What is Hoisin Peanut Sauce?
Usually served as a side to rice paper rolls, this tasty dipping sauce has Vietnamese and Chinese origins and is the combination of the two main ingredients – hoisin sauce and peanut butter. Blend in a little sesame oil and garlic with some heat and you’ve got yourself one very tasty dipping sauce.
Add the hoisin, peanut butter, sesame oil and garlic into a small saucepan and gently simmer on the stove.
Stir through water a little bit at a time until the sauce has a glossy look and a smooth, slightly runny texture.
Taste test a few times and add more of any ingredient or water until you’re satisfied with the flavour.
