We were able to keep Trinity from drinking soda for a long time. Coke, Sprite, Pepsi, etc. didn't exist in Trinity's diet. We even made a bet with the family that the one that gives Trinity soda first, will have to cough up $1,000.00 for the mistake.
At such a steep cost, everyone was very cautious. But for some reason Trinity's papa thought that Slurpee isn't the same as soda, and one day before the Thailand trip gave it to her. I disagree to some extent, but it is one of our tools to get Trinity to do things. Ha, such weak disciplinarians.
I can't remember when, only how Trinity was introduced to Soda Limeade. I believe one of the boys let her taste it while we were at a Bun Bo Hue Restaurant, and we thought it was "OK". Now, she asks for it every time we are at the restaurants, and today it has made it's way to my blog.
I've decided to embrace it so that we can make our own Soda Chanh Limeade, where I can control how much sugar to put in the drink. It turned out so good, it was out of this world!
Recipe for 1 Soda Chanh Limeade
3 tablespoons Simple Syrup (see below)
1 tablespoons of limeade (really depends on the sourness of your lime)
Crush ice
1 can soda (12-ounce) or fill-up the 8 ounce glass with soda leaving room to add either the syrup or the limeade as needed.

Put the simple syrup in a tall glass and squeeze in the lime juice. Stir to combine well. Drop a thin slice of lime into the glass. Add some crush ice. Top with the soda. Stir and drink. Add syrup or limeade to adjust the sweetness and tartness as you please.
Simple Syrup Directions
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup water
Combine equal parts of sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook until the sugar has dissolved. Set aside for 10 minutes to cool before transferring to a jar to completely cool. Store in the refrigerator. Makes about 1 1/4 cups.
