[Chinese Recipes] Zombie Drink

Invented by Donn Beach in the late 1930's for his tiki bars, this is a fruity drink that masks the large amount of liquor in it. The zombie drink is similar to a mai tai. This is the basic version, so of course there are many variations to this one, and you can find them at the Zombie drink Webtender page.

I really don't care about the variations, I just want to make one so I can feel cool.

Optimally you want a Collins glass.

1 part white rum
1 part golden rum
1 part dark rum
1 part apricot brandy
1 part pineapple juice
1/2 part 151-proof rum
1 part lime juice

Preparation:

Mix everything but the 151 rum in a shaker over ice. Pour into a Collins glass and float/top it with the 151. You can optionally light the drink on fire because of its high alcoholic content, though that deviates from this traditional zombie drink.

Serve over ice and garnish with a cherry, pineapple, or your choice of fruit.

If you want to light it on fire anyway, go for it, at your own risk of course. ;)

Does that make it a flaming zombie?
